£250 million topless table
The Battersea Power Station stands as Europe's largest brick built structure, envisioned by Sir Giles Scott in 1930, boasting original Art Deco embellishments. Its iconic four chimney silhouette is a familiar and beloved landmark in the London skyline. Despite closure in 1983, redevelopment plans faltered, leaving it a sought after but dormant asset, valued at £250 million in 2008. This work explored the parallel between a dormant power station and an unfinished table, hinting at an unspoken connection awaiting transformative intervention - a topless building and a topless table.
