‘Bedtime Stories’ tries to simultaneously settle couples fighting for their share of bed sheets whilst also helping out those suffering from insomnia as a different take on reading n bed. All this under an original and cheerful mood.
‘Bedtime Stories’ completely involves the reader in the story and each page adds or removes a layer of comfort to each side of the bed – more pages makes you warmer and comfier hopefully guiding you and your partner into a pleasant night’s sleep… It is even possible to remove pages, just like you would do in a book (if you dare!).
This first commercial edition is printed with Grimm Brothers’ story ‘The Sleeping Beauty’.
‘Bedtime Stories’ includes two lightweight synthetic duvets + polycotton kingsize duvet cover (to fit 230cm x 220cm). Currently available in red cover only. Price £105 + delivery.
Based on the one-off 'Bedtime Stories' blanket made in 2008 this new version is made in Portugal and carefully sewed at Tires Prison Facility for Woman (Lisbon).
The Sewing Workshop at Tires results from the collaboration between the Establishment and several Portuguese designers and small companies.
The female inmates spend their free time producing projects that range from commissions, small productions and entire collections.
The collaboration provides the women with an opportunity to earn a living and also acquire new skills/vocation through their commitment to work. The women whose lives are now restricted by prison see it also as a new prospect to recover their self-pride and expectations.
